Renault starts production of Megane in Turkey

Oyak-Renault, the French manufacturer's Turkish unit, will start production of the Megane (pictured). The decision follows a €200 million investment, Automotive News Europe reports.

The manufacturing unit in Bursa, in Turkey's northwest, aims at an annual production of 90,000 units, with a total production of 500,000 Meganes. Around 80% of the production will be targeted for export.

Oyak-Renault is owned for 51% by Renault and for 49% by Oyak, the Turkish military's pension fund.
