moovel lauches Fare Connect
moovel North America is launching Fare Connect, the first contactless mobile fare validation and calculation platform that is hardware-agnostic. This means that transit agencies can modify or implement fare validation systems without constricting existing hardware agreements. The system was trialled successfully and has now been selected by the Orange County Transportation Authority for deployment across their revenue fleet in 2017.
Fare Connect combines moovel’s mobile ticketing software with contactless technology to make boarding public transport simple and convenient. The platform also allows transit agencies to upgrade their fare collection systems to accept mobile fares.
Some key benefits of Fare Connect:
– rapid installation and remote management
– works on all contactless technologies, including QR codes, Aztec barcodes, NFC and Bluetooth
– integrates with any fare collection and validation system, but can also be installed as standalone installation
– synchronises with moovel’s back-office mobile ticketing management system to intelligently track rider movement and dynamically calculate fares
