Digitalisation is critical to stay ahead

Digitalisation is critical for the success of companies across the globe – that is an undeniable fact of the business world today.

As a matter of course, global companies rely on mobile and digital technology channels in all fields of operation.

Consequently, the quality of the technological infrastructure has become highly relevant to the growth of the economy as a whole, and of the Fleet and Lease sector in particular.

That is why we closely monitor global tech trends. As in any other sector, Operational Leasing companies rely on the latest developments in technology to offer better products and faster services to their customers.

Innovation leads to new applications that make life for our customers easier. To ensure that they have 24/7, uninterrupted access to our Operating Leasing services, a continuous investment effort is essential.

At the top of the list of technological innovations providing real benefit to our customers, is online/real-time connection infrastructure, offering uninterrupted communication with all service points. Other important elements: online reporting services, encompassing all the fleet information relevant for fleet managers to do their job; mobile apps that can provide emergency support, e.g. in case of accident or engine failure; telematics devices streaming info on location, mileage and driving behaviour to the fleet manager, who can use this info to optimise the dynamics of the fleet; and last but not least CRM applications, offering a customer-centric approach by allowing a quick turnaround to queries from the field.

Each of these innovations can now be considered as essentials for any Operational Leasing company.

Seeing the importance of technology in Operational Leasing today, it is not without pride that I can say that the company I am managing has been selected as "Digitalization Pioneer"* in recognition of the digital services it has developed for its customers.

But we must keep in mind that innovation should never be a goal in and of itself. Companies offering new products and services to their customers should always focus on the benefit this brings them. By monitoring technological advances and using the best elements to serve your customers – that is the way to stay one step ahead of your competitors, even in a world as fast-changing as ours.

Companies are assessed for digital strategy, digital services and digital operational competences. These processes are evaluated for the added value they create by correctly identifying both overall sector and individual customer needs.
